Celebrating 45 Years of Luxury at The House of Rose

The House of Rose, one of India’s foremost luxury jewellery maisons, celebrated 45 years of its enduring luxury and excellence in design. To mark this occasion, the House showcased its rare archival jewellery from its private Treasures collection, alongside a preview of its eight limited-edition collaborative watch timepieces and the unveiling of its first-ever, one-of-a-kind crockery collection, signalling a thoughtful expansion of the Rose universe beyond fine jewellery.

“Rose has grown because we never chased trends; instead, we focused on trust, learning, and creating pieces that could stand the test of time,” says Biren Vaidya.

“Forty-five years have taught me that jewellery is not about moments of brilliance, but about consistency of values, of craftsmanship, and of relationships. At the same time, we have always understood the changing times and the evolving needs of our customers, without ever compromising on what we stand for,” says Biren Vaidya, MD, House of Rose. “Rose has grown because we never chased trends; instead, we focused on trust, learning, and creating pieces that could stand the test of time. This journey has been as much about people as it has been about design,” he adds.

To mark this occasion, Rose also launched its first crockery collection, extending the maison’s design philosophy into the lifestyle space. Crafted with the same precision and aesthetic restraint that defines its jewellery, the crockery collection draws from a range of influences — from the richness of imperial motifs and fine detailing to sculptural contemporary forms and nature-inspired textures.

A defining highlight of the evening was a rare archival jewellery presentation, offering a view into some of Rose’s most significant creations across decades. Drawn from the maison’s private Treasures collection, the showcase traced Rose’s design evolution through exceptional gemstones, technical mastery, and narrative-led craftsmanship. Among the archival highlights were landmark creations such as The Empress of Rose (2011), featuring the world’s largest pear-shaped Colombian emerald at 290.52 carats; La Reina (2012), crafted from over 3,000 carats of Colombian emerald rough; and The Darbari (2024), a rare suite of Colombian cabochon emeralds totalling 400.89 carats, cut from a single extraordinary rough. The presentation also included historically inspired masterpieces such as Cleopatra’s Collar, Nefertari, The Golden Falcon, and The Nile Empress, each reflecting Rose’s mastery of gemstone sourcing, design precision, and storytelling craftsmanship.

The journey of Rose began humbly in Mumbai’s Opera House jewelry market, where founders Vaidya and Sheth took on jewelry repair orders for family and friends, setting the foundation for a remarkable legacy. As the Managing Director and creative soul of the Rose Group, Biren has spearheaded the brand’s evolution through three remarkable reinventions.

Over the years, Rose has redefined luxury, evolving into a brand synonymous with experiential retail and timeless elegance. The brand gained prominence through collaborations such as the 2007 partnership with Swiss luxury watchmaker Franck Muller, unveiling iconic creations like the Master Banker and Secret Hours. Rose’s expansion to New Delhi’s DLF Emporio Mall brought its unparalleled offerings to a discerning audience, while the acquisition of a rare rough gemstone and transforming it lead to the creation of The Empress of Rose, one of the largest pear-shaped Colombian emeralds, inaugurating the Treasures of Rose. On its 40th anniversary, Rose partnered with Italian Maison BVLGARI to craft a limited-edition watch. In 2025, Rose elevated its luxury retail further with The House of Rose at Ballard Estate, cementing its stature as an Indian brand of global acclaim.

Rose’s latest collaboration with Chopard, unveiling the Happy Sport Rose Edition, is another example of the brand’s commitment to excellence. Limited to just 20 pieces, this exclusive timepiece honors the loyal partnership between the two maisons. Constantly reinventing himself and his craft, Vaidya continues to lead Rose’s journey, symbolizing timeless elegance and the pinnacle of luxury.
