Renewed style
Arjun Khanna1.jpgAfter a break of close to three and a half years, Mumbai based menswear designer, Arjun Khanna is back with everything new. “I just took time out to rethink everything. I just thought that it was time to reinvent, and work on a new canvas,” says Arjun Khanna. Khanna has opened a new atelier at Lower Parel, where customers can definitely experience a lot of hand-holding with the designer. “It is going to be very personal,” he says. Everything is new - the cuts, the pattern and finish is new. Accessories – buttons, cufflinks, ties, pocket squares and neck-pieces for men with semi-precious stones - which can be worn on kurtas, bundis or bandhgalas, is a new addition. In fact, Khanna has tied up with a Jaipur based jeweler for the authentic look.  Vintage watches have been added too.
Over the last two decades, Khanna has played a vital role in defining men’s fashion in India. A non-conformist, much of his success has to do with bringing something entirely new to mens’ style. Khanna’s new collection shows his signature style comprising jackets, bandhgalas, bundis and sherwani. The predominant use of Chinese embroidery, dori and cutwork, with delicate pearls and crystals on pure silk, linens and jacquard in whites, ivory and indigo make this edit perfect for this season. The collection also features vintage floral designs across bandhgalas and bundi in pure silk floss using whites, beige ivories and shell pink as the colour palette. Exquisitely tailored pieces across a trio of stripes, fine buttas and abstract textures in silk and jacquard is what the winter edit is all about.
