The nationwide lockdown in India due to the coronavirus led industrial designer Paul Sandip to create the NOVEL, a low-cost IR thermal scanner aimed at rapidly identifying individuals with fever in crowded places. This innovation reflects Paul’s approach to incremental design, supporting health protocols and enabling safer public interactions post-lockdown.
The unprecedented spread of the coronavirus led to a shortage of protective gear for frontline helpers. To help contain the shortage, the GoI reached out to various industry organisations to help manufacture the items required by various agencies.
