Dior’s new muse

Luxury brands have certainly got India in their sight. The newest announcement to show this interest is from luxury brand Dior signing up fashion icon Sonam Kapoor Ahuja as the brand’s ambassador. Kapoor Ahuja is the brand’s first South Asian ambassador for collections by designer Maria Grazia Chiuri. A multi-talented personality, the actress, producer and fashion icon henceforth embodies the audacity, grace and elegance of Dior style, a femininity constantly reinvented, says Dior.

Kapoor Ahuja has been the face of L’Oreal Paris, Zoya Jewels and international watch brand IWC. The association with Dior is the icing on the cake. More than ever, this unique alliance celebrates the powerful cultural ties that have united Dior and India since the very beginning of the House, says Dior.

Post covid, luxury brands have been looking at India’s influence on the global stage. In 2021, Bulgari announced Priyanka Chopra Jonas as their global brand ambassador. In 2022, Louis Vuitton announced Deepika Padukone as their first Indian ambassador. In 2023, Gucci announced Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt as its global brand ambassador.
